Many myths and legends surround Twmbarlwm.

Some say the giant Bran, a Silurian chieftain is buried here waiting to rise in defence of Wales and there is a horde of treasure guarded by a swarm of bees.

celtic_warriorLegend tells us it was the place of judgement for the druids who tossed the guilty to their deaths into the valley below.

Strange ethereal music can be heard on the mountain and the nearby “Pool of Avarice” swallowed a great house when the mistress of the house turned away a hungry beggar.

There’s associations with the likes of Prince Madoc who allegedly discovered America long before Columbus and a famous horse who took part in the “Charge of the Light Brigade” is said to be buried here.
