Hot-Cross-Bun Walk 2020

ORGANISED WALKS CANCELLED

Walking to the top of Twmbarlwm on Good Friday is a local tradition that scores of people do every year – so it’s not up to the Society to cancel the event. But the group walks that we generally organise from the Stoney Bridge in Pontymister and from Cwmcarn will not take place this year due to the Coronavirus restrictions.

Also we will not be distributing Hot-Cross-Buns to everyone who gets to the top on the day as we usually do.

This is a great shame as it’s the one event we all look forward to every year.

We can only advise that if you do decide to climb the mountain that you should only do it in small groups and keep your distance from other groups – do not gather in large groups at the top or along the route up.

At the time of writing we don’t know what the official advice will be but just make sure that you adhere to any guidelines issued by the authorities closer to the date.

Please continue to enjoy our mountain but – keep safe – stay healthy – and let’s look forward to getting back onto the hills together very soon.
