JQN – 14/03/2014

Dear Member

What a wonderful weekend it has been up the Tump – I hope some of you managed to get up there and have a look at all the work that has been done. If not, don’t worry because you can come up next weekend to help us finish off a few odd jobs … read on…

VOLUNTEER WORKDAY – 22nd March 2014
Litter pick, Fence Repair, Gate Painting and Tree Planting

Again we’re inviting you to come and help with a bit of physical work – depending on weather and how many people turn up we will organise volunteers for the following tasks:

  • a litter pick around the area – sadly always needed, we’ll supply pick-up sticks, gloves and bags.
  • tree / brushwood dragging – we’ve been piling trees and brushwood up to the Alamo fencing and there’s still plenty more to do
  • gate painting – that horrible gate by the car park is going to become a lovely Caerphilly green with your help

But most important – we have invited Chris Evans MP and some other local VIPs to plant some trees behind the car park to commemorate completion of the Tidy Twmp project and the unveiling of the new Welcome Cairn.

The Tree Planting ceremony will take place at 12noon but if you want to get involved with the volunteer work please meet up at the car park at 10.30am on Saturday 22nd March – be sure to wear suitable clothing and footwear. We’ll have hot and cold drinks available and maybe hot-dogs if the weather is favourable.

A great deal has gone on up the Twmp in the past few months – please come along and see for yourself, and support us – bring the family along too.
